- Yearly physical exams
- Diagnostic testing including x-rays, endoscopy, blood tests and biopsy of growths
- Surgery for growth removal, injuries and internal issues
- Tailored medications and supplements
- Nutritional and behavioral counseling
No-Stress Grooming for Your Feathered Companions
Our veterinary experts see a lot of exotic pets, so we understand what is necessary to keep them healthy. We offer grooming services for birds and nail trimmings for all exotic pets so that they can continue to look and feel great.
We recommend that all pet birds have their wings trimmed so that they can avoid exposure to dangerous situations. Wing clipping provides birds with optimal safety in a home environment and typically makes them more reliant and less aggressive. Beak trimming is also an important part of caring for a bird. If a beak is excessively sharp or malformed, a bird can cause damage both to itself and to other animals, including humans.
Emergency Care for All Exotics
Exotic animals are experts at hiding signs of illness. Annual examinations and vaccinations are a great way to screen for problems that can’t be easily seen. If your exotic pet is displaying any signs of illness, please phone us to ensure the availability of an exotic pet veterinary. Several of our veterinarians work our extended hours or will be able to schedule an appointment for you as soon as possible. If necessary we will provide you with the directions to seek access to immediate alternatives. Some common first signs of illness include:
- Changes in behavior
- Decrease in appetite—Birds can pretend to eat, so pay close attention
- Weight loss
- Changes in water intake
